Travel, Experienced Deeply

I’ve built my life around understanding places, not just visiting them.

From far-flung adventures to tucked-away properties, I’ve spent years learning how destinations actually work: how they move, where they shine, where they overwhelm, and how to experience them in a way that feels meaningful instead of rushed.

Today, I bring that experience to my work as a travel advisor—designing thoughtful, immersive trips rooted in firsthand knowledge and real-world perspective.

I’ve always been fascinated by people and places: the way a market stall in Morocco smells like cinnamon and dust, the way early light settles over the Tennessee River, the way a shared smile can bridge languages.

But over time, that fascination became expertise.

I’ve traveled to 37 countries across 6 continents, navigating complex itineraries, language barriers, tight budgets, missed trains, unexpected detours, and unforgettable moments. I’ve learned what makes a trip flow well and what quietly derails it. I know when to slow down, when to move on, and how to design days that leave space for discovery.

That depth of experience shapes every itinerary I build.

From Storytelling to Strategic Travel Design

I graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Photojournalism, where I was trained to observe carefully, listen deeply, and look beyond the obvious. Those instincts have guided my work ever since.

As a travel writer and photographer, I’ve documented boutique hotels, rural villages, mountain towns, fishing harbors, and everyday life around the world. I’ve spent over two decades capturing not just how places look—but how they feel.

That same skill translates directly into how I plan travel:

  • I think about pacing.

  • I think about atmosphere.

  • I think about how your days will unfold and not just what you’ll see.

A well-planned trip tells a story. It has rhythm, balance, and intention.

The Year That Changed Everything

In 2013, my husband David and I quit our jobs, packed our lives into storage, and left for a year-long honeymoon around the world.

We came home with fewer possessions but far richer perspective, and a commitment to living with intention, simplicity, and curiosity.

That year taught me how to travel slowly. How to stretch a budget. How to adapt when plans shift. How to find connection anywhere. And most importantly, how transformative travel can be when it’s done thoughtfully.

I don’t just plan trips. I understand what they can do for a person.

Raising Globally Curious Kids

Now, much of our travel includes our twin boys, Cooper and Sawyer. David and I are intentionally worldschooling them, using travel as part of their education, and leaning into our family values.

We believe the world is one of the greatest classrooms there is.

Travel has taught them flexibility, empathy, observation, and curiosity. It’s taught us how to slow down, design days that work for children, and stretch a travel budget through thoughtful pacing.

That lived experience allows me to help other families design trips that are enriching without being exhausting. Immersive without being overwhelming.

Why Clients Work With Me

My clients aren’t looking for cookie-cutter packages or highlight-only itineraries.

They want:

  • Depth over distance

  • Culture over crowds

  • Thoughtful pacing over rushed checklists

  • Support when plans change

  • A trip that reflects who they are

Because I’ve navigated so many corners of the world myself, I can anticipate friction points before they arise. I can design itineraries that feel cohesive instead of chaotic. And I can help you travel in a way that stretches you—without leaving you unsupported.

You’re not just getting bookings.
You’re getting perspective, discernment, and lived experience.
